The Swingpal Experience: Track your progress

One of the best things about professional golf instruction is that if you commit to working on the changes your instructor suggests, you’ll see improvement in your swing and game.

And that’s certainly the case here at Swingpal, as not only will you get top-notch golf instruction, but you’ll also have the video evidence to show you the progress you’re making, as well as the tools to see exactly what strides you’ve made.

Being able to track your progress is a key component in the lesson process, and in the photo above you can see a great example of just how you can do that here at Swingpal.

On the left side of the screen is the first video that one of our users, John, sent us. But after a few weeks of working on the changes suggested by his instructor, Jim Williams, the video on the right exhibits the progress that John already has made.

As you can see, John has been able to shorten his backswing and it’s far less upright, which the green line reveals. His club is also not nearly as across the line at the top, his right elbow is in much better position and you can see that he has quieted his hip turn during the backswing.

All of the changes John has been working on allow him to deliver the club from the inside without having to make significant compensation moves in his downswing, something he relied upon previously and something that required too much timing.

“I’m thrilled to see just how much improvement John has made with his takeaway, which was the source of most of his problems,” Williams said. “I think we can get the club even less upright at the top in time, but John has worked hard and you can see the results. He’s thrilled to be a more consistent ball-striker these days and we’re both looking forward to continued improvement.”

The moral of the story here is simple; If you’re going to work on your golf swing, make sure you have a way to visually track the progress you’re making ... or worst-case scenario not making.

We can certainly help you here at Swingpal, but either way, as mentioned above, this is a crucial part of the lesson process.
